rear static drop questions

Hi there. I recently bought a stock 83 C10 2wd stepside with 350/4spd. I just scored a set of 2" lowering springs for the front from my neighbor. They were just taking up space in his garage so he gave them to me. My question is: I have read/ seen pictures that show a 4" drop in the rear looks good with 2" front drop on these trucks, and is accomplished with a different shackle on the rear leaf springs. Is there a lower shackle that will work that is available oem? Is there an alternative to buying the overpriced stuff from the aftermarket? I am basically a cheap/do it yourself guy and am looking to spend as little as possible here. Any help is greatly appeciated. Thanks!

No, there is no alternative shackle. All a shackle does is drop it roughly 1-2". To get 4" you need the shackle and hanger.

one more option

You can use 2" drop shackles and 2" lowering blocks to get your 4" drop.

If it doesnt have a flip kit, a 2" block will only raise it, not lower it.
