Re: Good Price For.... a Dana 60 Front Diff

It's missing lockouts and looks like the yoke too. Might price these items first. I would look at the axle thoroughly also if you're not planning to rebuild it. A complete rebuild cost about $1200 in parts alone for the last one I did, not including the lockouts and yoke. That could blow your budget quick if you're planning on a couple dollars on a set of lockouts and throw it under your dually.

The hubs and rotors are different for a dually on the front axle. The mounting surface is 5 inches further out than a single wheel

Re: Good Price For.... a Dana 60 Front Diff

Wow if you were to offer him $200 that's a slap in the face. $400 is a steal. He is giving it away. The truck you are purchasing is a 2wd 1ton or 4wd1ton.. I thought it was a 2wd but I could be wrong. Are you doing a conversion to 4wd, that is if it is 2wd.
It is easy to make that dually axle to a single wheel front axle, just get single wheel hubs.

The Dana ADD says its From a dually... what does that matter?? I'm keeping it a dually...

If you are keeping it a dually, it's perfect!

Around here if I offered $200 for that, all I would hear is a dial tone.

It was all good until you broke your finger! You stole that D60. Good thing you didn't wait because I was going to call on it if you hadn't purchased it when I got to the end of this thead.

Sounds like he made up for selling the 60 cheap for possibly selling the 12 valve that high. Any idea what year 12 valve?
