What is a rust free SWB Bed worth - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I'm not sure if this is in the right forum but how much would you say a rust free CA SWB Bed is worth? I know technically it's worth whatever I have in my had as the person is driving away with it but I'm really looking for a ballpark/starting point.

I WOULD GIVE UP TO 1000.00 IF IT IS ALL THERE WITH TAILGATE AND IS STRAIGHT AND RUST FREE, BUT IT IS NO DOUBT WORTH MORE THAN ONE YOU BUILD FROM THE NEW AFTERMARKET, AND THE COMPLETE AFTERMARKET BED JUST IN PARTS IS ABOUT 2100.00 WITH OUT SHIPPING, AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO PUT IT TOGETHER, GOOD LUCK VINCE

I have seen some here in CA go for $800-$1000 in decent shape
Easy way to get divorced

If it is straight and has a straight tailgate, then it probably would be worth buying for that price IMO

I sold a nice short fllet for 900.00 that had a wood floor. Hope that helps/

I bought one for $40.00 bucks a while back that was going to get tossed into the crusher!

I've seen a huge range in prices...

IMO (all assuming rust free, good header panel, and no significant damage)

With good straight tailgate and good straight steel floor 800-1200.

With no tailgate and good floor, or good tailgate and beat up floor: 600-800

No tailgate and bent up floor: 400-600

I bought a decent bed that's mostly rust free, needs some work, with a banged up floor, and aftermarket tailgate for $300.

I think 67ChevyRedneck has it about right... now there are exceptions, but for the most part I would run with the prices above.
