Why we do what we do

Every now and then, an otherwise routine moment can make a great impression on your mind. When that happens, drink it up, because that's what it's all about.
Yep, I'm a lucky man.

My son still gives me grief about the summer he sandblasted the entire front suspension on my 46 Ford for the price of his first BB gun!

Re: Why we do what we do

My son is 29 now and I have several of those pictures in my memory banks. You're a very lucky man. Truly enjoy. My son calls or texts me everyday to talk about cars, baseball, football, work, etc. He and his sister are easily the blessings of my life.

Great Thread!
I wish I had a pic of my Grandpa and I working together on my old 65 back in the early 80's.
I miss him so.

Re: Why we do what we do

Pictures just say it all! This is my grandson Kaiden and he is only 5 and he already knows his tools, the basics of a drivetrain and what makes it all work. He actually installed a horn on the truck recently and helped put the grille in. He loves running the sand blaster, DA sander and many other tools. Says he's going to drive this to school when he's old enough. (he's in pre-school, thinks big boys in kindergarten get to drive to school).

Re: Why we do what we do

i luv this thread! i was always at my grand dad's side when i was growing up, just as my son was at mine when he was growing up. we built lots of projects together, and i would give anything i have to do it all over again. he is 30 now & since he got to be a big-shot engineer he don't like to get his hands dirty much anymore. oh well, i gotta 9 yr old grandson & a '66 short / step! :

Re: Why we do what we do

Awesome thread! I don't have any kids yet, but somewhere around here I have a picture of myself at age 8 helping my uncle on his flat-head powered '40 Ford hot rod sedan. If I can find it, I'll get it scanned and posted. This truely is one of the best things about the automotive passion.
