Need help removing steering column, to remove cab.

'54 3600 with 4 spd.
I'm trying to pull the cab off to do some work.
I've searched around, but haven't found anything that has helped, or mentioned the turn signal collar.
I've got everything disconnected, and wheel removed. As far as I can tell, I think I need to remove the turn signal collar unit. Then unbolt the column from the steering box, lift it out of the box, and slide the column out of the cab.
This sound right?

I can't figure out how to remove the turn signal collar. Do you pull the wires up and out from the top, then rotate it over the notch to pull it off the column?

Any help please.

I'm not positive on how the turn signal switch comes off but you will have to drop the steering box and column out the bottom as a unit as the tube and column do not separate from the steering box like later units do.
Maybe one of the guys with a 54 can fill us in on that detail.
