pretty awesome for the 16 yo kid, he will be happy (if not then maybe mom and dad should buy him an old vw beetle, with a 1200cc 36 hp engine, lol).

MY brother has an old bug lol
It's funny though the truck is not for him and they say he can't drive it, so the only thing I can think of is they have a lot of memories with this truck.

Well they where super happy, they said I exceeded there expectations. YAY.
I still have a bit of work to do, box and wiring, I hope 3 weeks.

Well my list is getting shorter! Under side is done, everything cleaned, painted and tied up. I got under the hood all fastened up and looking spiffy. Pump the gas twice and bump the starter and she is purring.

I got the tail gate finally figured out, took a bunch of thinking on what to do and this is what I came up with.

Re: Someone else's truck. '48 Chev

And my part is done with this truck. Got the rear lights all installed and wired, don't mind the mess all the lights have to come out for paint. The truck will go for paint at some point when the owner gets it set up, then it will come back to me and I will finish up the wires. The truck starts instantly and purrs, clutch and brakes feel great, and everything works as it should.

nice work.
there are also weld on hinges available that allow the tailgate, or whatever, to be removed by sliding the hinge apart when it is open.

Re: Someone else's truck. '48 Chev

by going with the shortie tailgate you left lots of room for tail lights, license plate etc. looks good. my raised bed tailgate is full height and when opened reveals a cover plate below the bed floor area. I thought about installing some sort of tool box in that space under the rear bed floor that could stow the jack and wheel wrench but that will have to be done later maybe.
