S-10 column in a fullsize...

So I am at a swap meet the other day and come across a steering column that is complete with the key and even an 88-94 GMC steering wheel on it for $35 dollars. Seeing my truck has and started switch, no horn, and a blinker switch that the left turn signal won't go on and the right won't go off, I decide to buy it. I asked the guy what it was out of and all he knew was that it was out of a GMC. So I had a 50/50 chance, but for the $30 I talked him down to, I could pass it up. Brought it home and after removing my original column realized it was out of a S-10. Well too late now. I switched the mounting bracket under the dash, and drilled a hole thought the S-10 column steering shaft for a bolt and the plugged electrical everything up. I also had to take the factory collaspable steering shaft and drilled out the plastic and extended it 2 1/4 inches and welding it back up. It works great, I now have blinkers, flashers and a horn. The starter problem must be in the silonoid and not the tumbler. The pros and cons, the column is shorter so it sit closer to the dash, (Sucks for me because the seat doesn't recline and I have short legs, but I will get used to it. I would be great for someone with long legs.) and the steering shaft doesn't collaspe, but if you have ever seen my truck, you know if I got in an accident and the steering column would have gone through my chest, I would have been dead anyway. I will post pics once I get them developed. But it just blew my mind that everything plugged in and worked!
