Re: 16 inch 6 lug steel wheels?

The closest & cheapest would probably be the stock steel wheels from 88-98 4x4s

The hub holes on those will have to be opened up to fit the early C10 hub register. That or have the hub registers on the axles turned down.

I would say the best would be a set of original 16" 6 hole wheels. I do have some of those, but shipping would be spendy.

Wow, I figured the 4x4 centers would be large enough. Thanks for the info Capn.

Re: 16 inch 6 lug steel wheels?

If you plan to run the '88 and up 6 lug wheels for longer than temporary, I would have the wheels machined. You could have the hub register on the axles turned down, but I don't know if that will be possible on the front hubs, not knowing just what rotors you plan on using. If I'm not mistaken, the '88 and up 6 lug wheels have a 3-1/16" hub hole. The newer wheels are wider than the early wheels, but they also have a deeper backspacing. I would suggest checking the backspacing to see if that will be an issue, before having any machine work done.
