Rocker/spotwelds ?

In reading 1949gmc build thread he showed pics of removing the outer rocker on his new tub. It clearly shows that the top of the outer rocker has spotwelds to the top of the inner rocker/floor. See pics below. (1949gmc hope you don't mind my borrowing your photos.) Both sides of mine were totally rusted away so It was not evident on mine. I had used the factory manual but looks like I might have misinterpreted the drawings of the rocker spotwelds.

Can any of you confirm if this is indeed factory to have the spotwelds along the top of the outer rocker to inner rocker at the door sill?
