How dark is your window tint?

After last summer I really wanted to put a Vintage Air setup in my shortbox but I never found the time or funds to get it done. Now I'm thinking about tinting the windows to help keep me cool. I am also planning on moving to Denison, TX in July and I'm sure I need everything I can get to help keep me cool. What percent tint have you guys gone with? Post pictures of the truck when you post so I can get a feel for how they look. I don't want to go too dark. Also, is there a limit on the tint percentage in TX like there is here? Thanks in advance!

Re: How dark is your window tint?

yes, there is a limit in TX. you can't have anything darker than 35% on the door windows, but the back window can have 5%. you can go darker on the sides, but this is at your own risk.

Re: How dark is your window tint?

Sorry I can't help with that. I don't have tint on my truck.

You may want to ask a mod to move this over to the trucks forum, for higher visibility though.

Re: How dark is your window tint?

Although there are limits, mine will be 5% on my 1/2 top,
20% on my sides and wings, and 40% on my wind sheild.

Re: How dark is your window tint?

I don't have tint on my Blazer. i did have 15% on my dd honda(RIP) before it got totaled. It was perfect for me not to dark like 5% not to light like 35%. If you go into the shops they will have displays of the different levels. I highly suggest finding a good shop to go to and talk to them. State laws very and they can fill you in on the details for you. In Washington legal is 35% I got away with 15% all the way around for 2 -3 years before getting a ticket. if you get three tickets they impound your car. the car was totaled 4 months later.

Re: How dark is your window tint?

I am going to get the darkest legal tint on my rear window, because of the heat.
