fuel tank switching solenoid

Hey all you way smarter mechanics than me, how do I test the solenoid on the frame rail for switching tanks?? Finally have both gauges working more or less correctly, the fuel gauge still bounces like crazy while driving but hey it's only for approximates anyway....

the way my i did it was 1 empty tank 1 tank with gas with truck not running filck switch back and forth listen for sound from solenoid with running go from full tank to empy if truck started to die switch back then it should stay alive

Try putting power to the switch on the valve and double check your grounds on the sending unit wires:
