Question Black stain on painted wheel center

Hey guys,

The wheels on my truck are aluminum American Racing Torq Thrusts. The lip is polished aluminum, the centers are light gray paint with a rough texture. The lips were in desperate need of polishing, so I a Mothers powerball on them. Problem is I got the black residue on the painted part.

Is there anything that removes the black stuff. Tried some household cleaners and a lot of brushing with a stiff brush, no luck. Thanks in advance.

Welcome..
You might could try a little wax and degreaser...bad thing is its expensive..and if it dont work..well
Might be best to swing by a body shop and see what they say..

Thanks, you talking something like Simple Green? Or more potent than that?

I could also just powerball everything to make it all match if I have to.

Re: Black stain on painted wheel center

No, wax and degreaser is what you wipe all the contaminants off metal with prior to painting..
That's why I said drop by a bodyshop and see if they'll wipe it down,,,, but try a tiny spot 1st to see if it affects the paint though
