ok does a chevy 1982 slverado have a catalytic inhalator cause i want a muffler need help

Inhalator??? Are you talking about a catalytic converter? If so, then the answer is yes, they started in the mid 70's with unleaded fuel. They're supposed to be in place for safety inspections, but most places won't look. I assume you don't have emissions testing in El Paso? The only places in Texas I'm aware of that test emissions are larger cities like Dallas/Ft. Worth and Houston.

Strict? In the wide open spaces of Texas? I don't put 'em on any of mine when I go full duals and have never had a problem.

I'd have never thunk it in El Paso. That really restricts cam selection as well.
Maybe register it with a relative elsewhere in Texas? |

AFAIK, your truck is more than 24 years old, so it only needs a safety inspection. I would ask around, and see who people use that does not bother to crawl underneath and check. A lot of places around here don't bother to check, and I doubt if many of them would know a catalytic converter if they saw one. It may be different in an area that has emissions inspections, though.

Yes an 82 would have a catalytic converter. Also it is a Federal Law that you have one, so whether your city/county checks or not does not change the legality.
However, a lot of people get by with out them with no problems from the local authorities, including myself.
