Standard cab to a/c cab
Hi all,
My name is Brock and I have a 71 c10 lwb. It is a standard cab and I was wondering if it was possible to modify the cab to accept the center vent, side ball vents and all the a/c equipment to my non a/c cab?? Here in Vegas the summers are brutal and I need a/c. I really dont like the underdash aftermarket kits so please let me know what I can do. I look forward to learning from you guys and gals on here and getting my 71 up and running. Ill post some pics soon. |

Re: Standard cab to a/c cab
If you can find an AC dash it can be swapped (welded) in place or you can just cut out the holes... not sure if there are any tremplates out there....
Swaping the cab could lead to VIN # and registration issues... |

Re: Standard cab to a/c cab
Brock,
Take a look at my thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=382711 I did just what you are thinking about last year. The cost was about the same as an aftermarket kit, but it looks like the real thing, and works well. The body work is no big deal - I did it with very basic hand tools. Getting all the parts together was a chore, but sometimes you see complete set-ups for sale on the forum, and that would save a lot of time. Hope this helps, Richard
