72 GMC A/C Help
I'm putting factory air parts back into a truck that a previous owner stripped out. I bought the center air vent, gasket, and plastic Y duct that goes behind the dash however I am unclear as to how the pieces attach to each other. If someone could enlighten me as to how they attach or if there is a specific piece of hardware I need it would be greatly appreciated. I've searched parts catalogs from multiple companies but no one seems to sell parts for or even understand how they connect. Golden State, Brothers, & LMC all need to implement tech support.

How do parts #9 & #10 connect to part #8? I just bought all three parts from LMC, but no hardware is available for attachment, no threads for screws??????

Correct.............studs that go through from the outer piece through the dash, through the inner piece and 2 nuts inside.

10 didn't come with any studs, just a couple of slots for studs...maybe. The slots are not threaded though. There are 2 holes in the back of eight that line up with the slots in 10.

Here are some photos of my A/C parts and you can see there are slots to put studs in...maybe. But no threads or a way to secure them into the vent.

Don't have an old #10, previous owner stripped all of the A/C parts from the truck.

Then you need to find some studs or cut you some threaded rod about 1.5 long. That will solve your problem. I just got through doing the AC system on my ols suburban.....It all went well intill I decided to try to get all the vent hoses in....What a CLUSTER!

The center vent will be much easier if the driver's side of the vent is blocked of. The driver side with the radio in place is a bear to put in. They make a
plug set specifically for this. With everything already installed in the dash, this is going to be a little harder than usual, but take your time and you can do it.
