87 Burban, will a 79 or older hood fit? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hey guys, I've got an 87 suburban, I used to have a 79 k5 & I much prefer the look of the older hood, I'm wondering if the older hood will bolt on without major fitment issues? Anyone have experience with this? I know where there is a great dinar truck I can grab parts from this weekend! Thanks in advance.

I'm no expert, but I think you have to also swap out fenders and maybe even the core support. I'm not sure your grill will work either.

I knew the grill was going to be a problem, I'd even be ok with a fender swap! This old burb needs paint anyway. I was thinking one of those billet grills. I'm just a big fan of the flat front, this one has a slight point in the nose.

I think you need to swap everything forward of the firewall.
