Negative. Best of my knowledge it's original or nothing.

If it's still on the truck just make sure to remove the windshield before attempting to remove the trim. It can only be removed from the gasket without damage after the glass/gasket/trim assembly is off the truck.

Re: Windshield Stainless Trim

Is it stainless or is it bright anodized aluminum? I know the side trim and custom grilles are bright anodized aluminum. I am interested to know how well the window moulding polishes out becuase I would like to do the same. I read where one member said something about polishing the aluminum grille gave him troubles because of the anodizing. Has anyone else polished an aluminum grille or this window trim?

on aluminum grills it all depends what you are looking to get out of it.a person can use tripoli on a 2500 rpm bench buffer if your carefull without alot of pressure and polish it to a pretty nice shine then finish it off with a white rouge but its easy to go through the anodizer if you don't keep moving your peice.it comes out fairly well if it's not chipped up bad,but my favorite results are to remove the anodizer and use emery then either stainless or tripoli compounds depending on the condition of the aluminum and then use a white rouge compound and then get the grill recoated.you get a mirror like new finish.i have never done the window trim but i will be in the next coming months.

Re: Windshield Stainless Trim

Somebody posted pics of our trucks in a junk yard in Texas. They had some window trim on at least one of them trucks in the pictures. The person also posted which junk yard in Denton, Texas.

Re: Windshield Stainless Trim

Hey Vernski,
That looks like the rubber with a groove for the trim. I purchased a complete 'Deluxe' rubber set from LMC and if I don't like the results with my trim, I'll spring for a 'Standard' windshield rubber. I think it looks fine without the trim, but it would compliment the Custom Cab badge.

Yeah I seen the trim for the rear window at LMC but not for front. I was wondering in the like I posted if earlier they have the stainless steel trim for a 67-73 if it could be made to fit just a thought...Vernski
