Found this in my litarature stash and thought it was pretty cool. Factory GM photo of a Longhorn with a slide in El Dorado camper and a C&C outfitted camper.

I gave up my search for a Long Horn and went for a square body instead... but these pictures make me want one again, camper and all...

Cool pic, but every time I see a ginormous camper like that on a truck it looks incredibly unstable to me. No way I would drive a set up like that. Guess I'm a wuss when it comes to that kind of hauling =)

That's a cool pic, but I font believe I've ever seen a light yellow truck with a green top.

Its rarely seen code #573 (504/524) but is for real and you could also get the reverse #574 (524/504) yellow over med. olive.

Great pics. Back when camping was fun. Not just a bunch $50,000 fifth wheel trailers with generators disturbing the peace.

Cool campers. That's not the right yellow for the yellow/green 2-tones. They used grapefruit and that looks like wheatland. These trucks haul those campers like they're not there. They aren't as heavy as they look. Most of the weight is down low,also.

Your right Tim, its not grapefruit but I don't think its wheatland either. It looks more like the '70 520 yellow. The green looks right on so who knows. Maybe it was a '71 facelift prototype painted in '70 colors... sorry its late here and cold at ~ 17*F.

I was wondering if they just tinted the picture. This brings me to something that I never got about 520 yellow. The charts show it as 69/70 color. But,I swear the '72 Blazer I've had since the early-80s said Wheatland on the SPID. It's obviously Grapefruit. It's a parts vehicle and I had the glove box door chromed many years ago. I also recall checking into a Highlander listed in Hemmings Motor News 20 or so years ago that was listed as being Wheatland Yellow. It wasn't until more recent years that I ever got into all this nitty-gritty info like we get into here. I just went by what I saw and I saw a lot since these trucks were new. I never saw that truck so I don't know what shade it actually had. But,I went for years thinking Wheatland was what is actually 525 yellow.

Ok,this thread is about a cool Longhorn toting a camper picture. Would you guys stop side tracking fer cryin' out loud?
