What's Available?

I did a search and came up with everything but.. I know people have told of their dealer finds over the years..
but what if anything is still available for our trucks right now at the dealers..
I'd like to see people list their finds and buys and where they got it.

I have a dealer up the street..
and I'd kinda like to go in and know what to ask for..and maybe a number if you have it.

Thanks.

J.

Re: What's Available?

Look at what you are getting. The current Chevrolet replacement market is iffy at best. Most will sell you replacement rockers but instead of N.O.S. they are licensed reproductions. They're the same as the BB vendors will sell you except they cost more.I believe Hood hinges are actually one of the replacement parts that are better than repo.

Re: What's Available?

I just ordered a pair of sway bar brackets from the dealer for my '68. When they come in I'll let you know how they look, but since it's just a bracket I don't really foresee problems...

So, are you saying that hood hinges are one of the things that dealers still sell?
Because I actually could use hood hinges..
My hinges are warped, causing the back of my hood to sit high.
I'd like to buy replacements, but I'm sort of put off when I read about reproductions falling apart after a few years.

Re: What's Available?

My local chevy dealer is huge, and the only part they could sell me was a key. They said their system only goes back to the 90's.

There was a guy on the forum a week ago or so that said he was able to order deluxe side marker lights.

Honestly though, you're probably better off just ordering from Brothers or another online retailer that specializes in these trucks.

Re: What's Available?

Thanks to this site I was able to get a horn contact kit from the Chevy dealership last week. Too many threads saying the LMC repros dont fit and needed to be grinded down. The parts guy was really surprised when it showed it was available.
