Jimmy/Blazer parts swap.

Hi guys. Just bought a '71 Jimmy but am not sold on the look of the grill with the quad headlights. Would like to convert it to a Blazer grill. Can the inner headlight pots be removed from the rad support and a Blazer grill be used? While I'm asking, can a Blazer rad (core) support be used on a Jimmy and what about fenders? I havn't even got it in my driveway yet, but I want to start planning my attack. Thanks, Bob.

Re: Jimmy/Blazer parts swap.

Bob, the fenders cannot be used, GMC front ends use 68 chevy fenders (sans 69-72 GMC). The hood's the same from 69-72 though. The core support is the same except for the 4 instead of 2 headlight buckets but could be modified I suppose. The hood release brackets are different from GMC to Chevy the way they bolt to the grill surround.

Hey, I'm in Idaho next door and I have a very nice front clip from a 72 Blazer including core support I would trade for a nice GMC setup. PM me if you are interested in pics (both ways).
