Bag 'Hat' Pics for Shon

These pics are the 'hat' that some guys will use vs. drilling the oversize holes & bolting the bags directly to the frame. I'm not sure who sells these directly.... I made mine:

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Heres some that Dino floated me. I welded a washer in to bolt 'em in easier.

Thanks for sharing your pics Protrash. I used a bag sitting on the shelf & wanted to install @ 90° air fitting to show clearance but didn't have any extras. Your pic has a nice view of how it clears the fitting.

Yes, you would if the ultimate goal is a slammed stance. If a guy just wants a mild drop & then be able to add hauling capacity easily, these beat drilling the multiple holes necessary. I used these initially & found that in order to achieve my desired ride height, I was way to low on air pressure in the bags & it compromised ride quality. They were propmtly removed from service.

I thought so but was not 100% sure. They didn't offer them separately when I did my 68 back in 2000. Good to know.

Well, maybe Tony needs to weigh in on the topic. I picked up some from them back in '99, but maybe they don't offer them outside of the kit (??).

Thanks for clarifying. I had never seen that done before.

Re: Bag 'Hat' Pics for Shon

I wanted these for towing, I am not interested at the moment for a slammed truck, I need to tow my car/trailer to the track and this willl get the job done from what I have been told!

If ART has the parts needed outside of a kit I would like the part #s to compare to see if I will have these made or if I will buy the brackets.

When I did this I didnt even know that generally people put the fitting thru the frame and run their airline up inside.

Re: Bag 'Hat' Pics for Shon

To date we do not offer them seperately.... the reason is that they were designed to use a specific airspring and if it is used with something else... we can not guarantee anykind of fitment or ride or anything.....

Thanks, Tony.

However... I think the real reason is that Tony is usually asleep at his desk, so he doesn't have time to sell them (though he appears to have figured out a way to fool Bret into thinking he's at work)
