That one has been for sale for a while. It looks decent. I'm surprised it hasn't sold. The price has dropped quite a bit so I'm sure you could strike a bargain if you tried. It sure would look sweet with some 20's!

Re: Boy oh boy, temptation... 2wd Blazer in my neck of woods
Guy is sending me pictures... I think I will have to be pretty aggressive if I want it. There is a Californian that wants it, but this guy doesn't really want to go through the motions of a long distance deal.
My wife would kill me... Damn. What is $7,250 for a decent 4 year loan... hmmm.. This is some of the preliminary- ex military vehicle original 2wd converted from standard to auto; however, still has clutch pedal (zip tied down) Some new sheet metal; needs a little more Daily driver New Radiator Didn't pass emissions; rebuilt carb 70k miles on chassis/engine He is emailing pics... I will post a few more up soon.

Don't plan, react!
Looks like it needs some work, but still a good buy for the price. Redo the interior and you'd have a great driver. The outside looks good.

I flew to seattle to get mine. If you find a decent one in your area for a good price, buy it.

Re: Boy oh boy, temptation... 2wd Blazer in my neck of woods
Loan rates are just not as attractive as they used to be... Between my banks and credit unions, I did find a 5.5% interest up to 48 months which isn't too bad. That is still $160 a month. I haven't had a car payment in almost 3 years and it's tough to justify one for a 35 year old truck...
Gonna go the family route and see what I come up with. My pops has been looking for a project and I might be able to get him to buy off on it.

Two nice looking options. I like the first one. It would make a nice start to a custom project.

Give in to the temptation!! I make payments on mine and have never regretted it.
Have you been thinking about getting a 2wd? I thought you were more a 4wd guy? Or does the Burb cover that need now? |

Re: Boy oh boy, temptation... 2wd Blazer in my neck of woods
looks like a great base to start with, good condition but not totally 'finished' so you can put some personal touches on it. go for it!
besides, you know it will be treated well if you buy it.. but what if some spoiled kid gets it for his 16th birthday from his rich, snobby parents? thats right, it would be a pile of junk in months. if thats not motivation to save a chunk of history from imminent doom, i dont know what is

Re: Boy oh boy, temptation... 2wd Blazer in my neck of woods
They are few and far between. There are usually not more than a handful on the market at any given time.
Here are a couple on the upper end. I love the red one with the upper molding. http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/car/262151958.html http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/car/254820106.html

Re: Boy oh boy, temptation... 2wd Blazer in my neck of woods
You guys sure don't make it easy to say no... Great arguments. Talk about devil's advocate.
Quote:
I really like 69-72 K5s. A lot. I don't need another 4x4 and I know the 2wd's are getting more and more rare. I actually wouldn't mind something with 1/2 as much drivetrain actually. This would be a fun fair weather once a week and Sunday driver. I see those street 2wd 69-72s with some nice rims and the top off and it actually makes me salivate. I am doing it right now! I am going to think about it overnight, and if it feels right I will go ahead and pull the trigger tomorrow; the guy commutes from Idaho and leaves on Thursdays, so I would try and at least get a deposit in his pocket tomorrow before he leaves. This was unplanned and I wasn't exactly in the market yet. If I had to sum it up, it's definitely the right truck, but probably not the right time... So the question remains whether the time issue is something I want to force...

Paint the top white slam it with some 20's and your big pimp'n. Just me .02 worth. Just buy it and deal with the rest later. 2wd's aren't getting any cheaper!
