Seat question, 1977 Chevy Blazer

We picked up a 1977 Chevy Blazer, then our quick swap and drop escalated a bit.

In looking for seat cushions we can find low back bucket cushions for 1973 - 1974 and seat cushions for 1978 and up.

Does anyone here know the difference between the available 1974 cushion and the unavailable 1977 cushions? Right now planning on getting the ‘74 cushions and making them work.

Thank you!

Nice Blazer

I had a 76 Blazer years ago.

I cannot answer your question.

Maybe TKCR will see this thread.

She restores seats and seatbelts.

Re: Seat question, 1977 Chevy Blazer

The 73-75 buckets are a little different than 76/77. But I would use them versus the 78 and later that are high back. The low back seats have a slightly different back than 76/77. They should bolt in and be useable until you find the correct seats. The low backs are expensive both early and later. The high backs are pretty common and much less expensive.

The 73-74 frames are exactly the same as the 75-77, it’s just the covers and foam that’s slightly different. They make covers for both styles

Re: Seat question, 1977 Chevy Blazer

Thanks for the update. I didn’t realize the 75 seats were the “ later” low backs. I’d like to see the stock cloth buckets for 73-75. There is very little info available for the early squarebody buckets.

If you go to USA1 Industries, Randy has a video about the covers and the difference with the buckets seats.

Believe it or not 73-77 low back frames are actually the same as 69-72 blazer frames except the side skirts have a taper instead of being square

I did not know that! We have the seats done and they came out nice. Will eventually update the thread!
