Best 60-66 static lowering options
A buddy of mine just picked up a 66 chevy c-10 swb 2wd single cab fleetside pickup. It has a fairly decent base but were looking to lower it substantially, say 3-5 drop with just a static drop would be his goal. Here are its specifics
Truck/trailing arm rear suspension A-arm front end Power steering Power brakes (looking for a big brake conversion not high end though) V-8 700r4 combo 5 or 6 lug possibly (depending on wheel options) 18-20" staggered wheels (no width yet) DO NOT want to cut up the bed Simply looking for the best drop kits, spindles, springs, shocks the works. She's a blank slate so were just trying to map it out right now.

Re: Best 60-66 static lowering options
I don't know about best, but "best bang for buck" is what I did to the above truck: - cut 1 1/2 coil off front springs and removed bump stop bracket (free) - installed TJ Jeep springs in rear with 2" drop blocks ($100) It rode great and looked tits.

Re: Best 60-66 static lowering options
Probably looking to go lower and price isn't terrible in the pocket book just looking for a good ride worth doing. CPP, McGaughys, beltech, can't honk of others right now

Re: Best 60-66 static lowering options
Really like that stance! How many inches of drop does cutting that much coil give you? I bought brothers truck 2" front coil drop and 4" rear coil drop. I too wanna go as low as I can go static while retaining a good ride and a level look. I can still return these, so if you guys have a better configuration let me know please! Thanks

Re: Best 60-66 static lowering options
Here's a good place to start. Read the threads on their builds and PM them if needed. I have used all of the sources you listed on other vehicles. 2 1/2 drop spindles, 3" coil front and a bolt in under bed notch rear with 3" coils a 2" block kit, adjustable pan hard bar and rear shock relocation brackets is a good recipe too. Try Borris at way2lo2 here on the forum. Delmo is also a suspension dealer and a good source.

Re: Best 60-66 static lowering options
We had a guy "step" our front arms -$75. Installed factory 4 cyl s10 coils up front - free from a V8 project we had. Had a guy extend the rear shackles 2" - $50. We r on leafs in the back so we just removed a few of them. CPP notch kit from eBay for $100.
The jeeps are wranglers from 97-06 or the TJ model. Folks on here say u can get them free at a 4x4 shop |

Re: Best 60-66 static lowering options
MalibuKasey did a 5.5/7" drop with spindles, springs, and a C-notch. His is about the lowest I've seen static without getting crazy with suspension/frame mods.
Check out his "Buttercup" build for the full details. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ight=buttercup

Re: Best 60-66 static lowering options
I've never had any issues with it since its not my truck. Check with MalibuKasey, he owns it. I do know that he drives it on the interstate daily.

Re: Best 60-66 static lowering options
That looks awesome they seem to be the overall average at that stage so far. But that would be a perfect stance

Re: Best 60-66 static lowering options
Mine is 2" springs/2" spindles-front and 3" springs/2" blocks-rear. However it would be lower if I didn't have such tall tires on it. 255-70 fronts 265-70 rears. Mine ride is really comfortable with No Limit rear shock relocation kit.
