np205 swap

will a np205 direct bolt into a np208? my 87 keeps having problems with the 208 and i can get a 205 for a good price.

First, what trans do you have, 700r4? If so, then make sure the coupler you get matches your trans. All you MAY need is a coupler adaptor for the spline count difference. Advance Adaptors will have it. Count the splines on the input shaft on the 205 and then count the spline on the output shaft of the 700R. oh, one more thing you need to make sure the 205 came out of a truck with a th350. The mounting for a turbo 350 is the same for a 700r4. Good Luck

Past 73-87s=
-81 RCSB 4x4 built 350/SM465/205. 6inch suspension. 35x12.50 courser a/t's. 4.11s f/r (ravvid red)
-80 RCLB 4x4 454/350/205. 6inch suspension 3inch body. 38.5 gumbos. (mudslut)
