Best bed liner for body protection???

my trucks black and needs rockers. i wanted to weld new ones in, and instead of repaint, i wanted to do some kind of DIY bedliner about 6-8 inches or so up from the bottom all the way around the truck. who has done this? what kind of prep work should i look forward to? what brand looks and holds up the best? thanks guys some pick would be cool!

nothing? ok how bout this what brand of diy bedliner would look the best/glossy/smooth if i were to put it around the bottom of my truck?

I've seen it done and think it looks cheap and tacky. It might be OK if you ran stock trim along the top border - sort of a two tone look. I think The thicker chrome rocker panels cover look cool. Maybe you could weld in your new rockers and primer them, then cover with the chrome rocker covers.

I'm interested too, as my burb will be a two tone silver/black along the stock 68 lower trim with lined rockers for snow season.
