Turbo 292?
I have been seeing these getting more and more popular by the month it seems. I'm curious if anybody has driven a turbo'ed/intercooled/injected one.
I would imagine if built insane it would make for a great tow engine.I know they race them however I haven't seen any built up for towing. Low end torque gas engine like this is very interesting. |

I unloaded my '71 K/10 SWB project a couple years ago, but I had gathered all the stuff for a 292 swap and had a turbo ready for it. I wish I could have seen that through.

Engine management is the toughest part on a project like this.
Fuel injection, reluctor wheel, ignition control, etc. You could use a blow-through carb and distributor, but the reason the turbo world has opened up so much the last ten years is electronics. Precise fueling, ignition, and engine control has made it real easy to make big power. I know the Holley EFI could be set up to do everything, from fuel injection to coil-on-plug ignition. I've imagined doing a project like this for a while, I think it'd be very unique and cool.

Well I have a 8.1 out of a suburban however thinking of doing something different. Turbo Labs is located just a couple miles away and I found a 292 for sale that's running.

250 has a better rod for boosted applications.
