I Picked This Up Yesterday
-
Since I sold the Suburban I had some money burning a hole in my pocket… It’s a ’67 Panel that originally had a 6 cyl and three on the tree. It has some mods but I’m good with that. I’m thinking a 383 and 700r4 for a driveline and I have a complete air ride system that I have been saving for the “right” truck. I think this is it…. LockDoc

Re: I Picked This Up Yesterday
Thanks guys, I have already started tinkering on it. I have a completely rebuilt '76 front cross member with dropped spindles I have decided to put under it.
Yes, The guy I bought it from had the work done and drove it quite a bit before he moved here from New Mexico. Quote:
They sure have, and they did a nice job on it too. LockDoc

Cool panel!
Looks like it has some 6- lug 15x8 rear wheels also.

Re: I Picked This Up Yesterday
Almost bought a 4wd 70 panel a few days ago, just didn't fly with the wife having a few projects in the yard already. To bad for me, that is a cool panel you picked up.

Kind of nice and smooth without the bumpers though.

Re: I Picked This Up Yesterday
Looks good, Leon. I suppose now you'll be spending all your time in the shop instead of on here.
It does look nice without the bumpers.

Re: I Picked This Up Yesterday

Thanks for the compliments gents, I am going to work on it some today. I didn't even notice the wheels Keith, glad you mentioned it. Mark, I think the rolled pans would have to be removed to do that, but I may put some old school Hot Rod nerf bars on it. Something like on the '32 in the picture might look good. We'll see Tinker, you need to get out more... LockDoc

Well, I got the front cross member swapped out today. It's really easy with no engine and trans in it.... It is completely rebuilt but the guy I got it from had it sitting outside for a while... I think I am going to put 6 lug rotors on it so I didn't worry about the rust for now. LockDoc

Your choice will surely work fabulously for the rear or both! Very cool mods that were done by the PO ... they should save a lot of time, fabrication and $$$, and give the project a nice theme already started by someone with good vision! PS---love the color. Would be quite cool in a "pearl" version of that. A pal had a "buff" colored 67-72 and it fit great with the body style and era. Have fun! Ellen . Last edited by ETsC10; 11-27-2014 at 12:07 AM. |

Thanks Ellen. I'm just thinking on the rear. I will have to check out the VW's. The wife and I were just talking about color last night. The Kia Soul's have some nice looking colors. like the "Acid Green", "Green Tea Latte", "Latte Brown", and the "New Vanilla Shake". I may play around with Photo Shop one of these days.... LockDoc

I've always loved greens, especially the ones leaning to mossy, army or soft green. Not sure about the Acid green but the green tea is quite OK in my book. I DO like the Vanilla Shake. It would give you much more latitude in interior choices. Guess I steer towards the muted...which you have chosen... but, in my mind, with some pearl to give it that extra POW! your new rig deserves. Our trucks have such great, classic looks, it's nice to highlight that in a paint that shows off its sexy bodylines. This thread is fun! E |

2 problems here. First you can't post a wanted to buy unless you are a subscribing member. ($15 or $25 a year) Second, 250 I6 stands will not fit a 292. The 292 stands are different and can be hard to find. Your best bet would be to become a subscribing member (Click on the word "Subscribe" in the menu bar at the top of this page for info) then post a "wanted to buy" on the parts for sale board. LockDoc
