posi rear end kit

Anybody heard of a kit to convert a stock 65 chevy SWB rear end into a posi rear end? If so wear can I get one and how difficult is it to do it?

Re: posi rear end kit

There is no special kit needed to install a posi into a '65 or newer truck 12 bolt. The '63 & '64's require changing the side spider gears. All you need is a posi unit for a truck 12 bolt. The truck 12 bolts were used from '63-'82. You may also need an installation kit, which will have new bearings and seals. The typical posi unit will require a professional to install correctly, unless you posess the necessary skills and tools to do so. An exception to that is the lock-Rite unit that will fit into your existing carrier. There are a number of sources for either of those such as , Summit Racing, Jegs, Randy's Ring and Pinion, Reider Racing, Drivetrain Specialties, Drivetrain Wharehouse, etc.

Re: posi rear end kit

Nope. The most common stock gear in these C10 trucks is 3.73's. 4.10's were an available option.
