What did you get done 5/9/10 where is spring edition

I got nothing done this week I had a bad week with the death of an aunt and my mom being first in a hospital then now in a rehab ( physical impairment) and having to deal with my dad and all.
I am also doing some home improvement to make the house better for my parents and their old age disabilities
You all?

Re: What did you get done 5/9/10 where is spring edition

installed new lokar braided throttle cable and kick down cable along with bracket for it.

swapped mufflers with my mustang.
the truck now has dual bassani mufflers, which sound AWESOME. much more aggressive compared to the old magnaflows.

also installed a factory air dam up front :-)

Still doing landscaping around the house this weekend. I also removed the gear drive out of the Blazer... much quieter but now there's a knock. Didn't ever notice it b4 due to the loud gear drive... in the process of replacing the rod bearings... hoping to button it up tomorrow!

Another weekend of yard work for me. Saturday I ran service calls all day and bought plants. Today I hit the nursery again for more plants. We had excessive heat last Summer followed by a couple of hard freeze nights last Winter so I have lots of damage vegetation to replace.

Re: What did you get done 5/9/10 where is spring edition

Sorry to hear of your loss and about your mom also Bob.

I took heads and manifiold off balancer timing cover and oil pan as I am finally getting around to putting the Lunati Voodoo roller cam and Edelbrock heads + crane gold rockers I bought a while back. I already had Cloyes hex-adjust chain with the Cloyes cover with cam stop.
I need to verify pushrod lenth too.
Its been a while since I did any engine work but hopefully it will turn out ok.

Seeing how I still have front end off the core support was easy to remove so I can slide the new cam in.

I am hoping to degree the new cam in next few days before I put the heads on and check PV clearance.
I had an oil leak and I think i
It was either the oil pan or possibly rear main seal I have new gasket and rear seal while I am at it.

The old lifters and stock 350 (929) cam look to be in good shape and I was able to pull the lifters out with my fingers easily. The rest of motor looks clean also inside so should be good to go.

Maybe someone need some good stock heads (complete w/pushrods) w/ lifters and a good used stock cam? I have all lifters in order also to be put back in same spot.

No truck work this week. Need to purchase some steel to complete the bridge and the upper links. Also, in the middle of repainting the exterior of the house.

Finally, this weekend, inner ear infection 1, me 0.

Re: What did you get done 5/9/10 where is spring edition

Got 4 new 235/75/15 Michelin LTX M/S2's mounted on my Rallys. Also replaced a thermostat-to-water-pipe O-ring on my 91' Accord. That stupid O-ring was causing the car do dump 1/2 gal of coolant every time I parked it, but was fine while running. Next, I'll probably be replacing the steering rack, as it seems to be dumping quite a bit of power steering fluid, and it's a little "loose".

Got the worst mileage ever in my Accord (20mpg), and the best ever in my truck (13.5mpg).

I like it! I would like to come up with something like that for my coupe. One day...

I didn't accomplish anything this weekend. I went to the Vintage Air open house Saturday with the '37 Chevy coupe. There were a lot of nice cars there. Sunday was just Mother's Day stuff.
