An old pic of my dad with his 1967 C10

Found this picture this evening while going through some old photo albums at my parent's house. It's from 1973 and is of my dad standing in back of his 1967 Chevy C10. I guess he's showing off a new outboard motor or something. I remember that truck. It was baby blue. Wish he still had it. GTT

A '67 with big rear window and side markers?

I was thinking the same thing. I have a '67 with a LBG but no side markers. I also have one with the SBG still no markers.

The tail lights on those trucks look like an afterthought.

That's cool! Looks like you both like fishing. Remake the pic with your truck.

Great picture, now go find that truck for you to get it back to that picture state!

The picture by my name is my Uncle's truck with my Mom and another friend standing next to it.

Yes, Dad and I do like fishing. We still go often when we can. Can't remake the picture with my truck and outboard motor.......me bear hugging my 90 hp Mercury wouldn't quite look the same as him holding that little 5 hp Johnson.
Oh, and I called him to verify. His truck was a '68 with 6 cylinder manual shift on the column. He sold it to a man in Sheridan, Arkansas in 1978 when he got a brand new 1978 Ford F100. Have not seen it since. It may be sitting in a barn somewhere though. GTT

Re: An old pic of my dad with his 1967 C10

That truck would have been a sister to mine. My dad bought the same truck as your dad, but in ochre, in 1972.

The 1968 had front drum brakes but a more powerful 6 cylinder than did the '72.

Now I may try and get a step rear bumper for mine sometime in the future.

If you look closely, you can see the bed sits a couple inches lower than the cab.

That is the stance mine took after I put in the new cab-to-frame bushings.

Cool picture. Truck, your dad's "style", boat motor, looks like'73 Chevelle...or was picture later and it's a '75 Monza? Anyway, all that makes it cool for capturing examples of the era. We used to call that a hair helmet. I guess that was us long hair guys' way of gettin' back for the grief we got

That's just how all pickup truck lights were till wide beds came along, just like the chains for the tailgate. Where else would they go? That's pretty cool you have two '67s, a standard cab and optional Panoramic cab.

That appears to be a 1963 Johnson if you're shopping for photo props. (I still have my dad's 1963 5.5 hp and it looks just like that outboard)

We got our first fleetside in 1975, after selling our '69 GMC stepper.

I remember thinking as a little kid "...wow...they've come a long way in tailgate design in the last few years!".

Man, you've got a great eye! That is my mom's new 1973 Chevelle parked in front of Dad's '68 C10. I got the Chevelle in 1985 when I turned 16 and what a cool ride it was. Loved that car and wish I still had it, but it's gone to that scrap yard in the sky. Dang good car, though. GTT
