Winch in stock bumper.

Anyone ever put a winch behind the stock front bumper.

Search for pics but couldn't find any.

Basically I don't want to make a custom bumper but would rather just make a plate behind the bumper and put a fairlead on the stock bumper.

Just want to see if anyone has any pics

Re: Winch in stock bumper.

I've seen it done on a factory bumper before but I'm not sure if I've seen this done to a square. If you make one I'd like to see a pic.

Re: Winch in stock bumper.

90 on the right has a milemarker behind the bumper. Other links I had to his build have been disabled. It is a slick setup.

Re: Winch in stock bumper.

Ramsey made custom brackets to do this for their older 8k winch. It was either that or the old Hickey Sidewinder....

Re: Winch in stock bumper.

I have photos of it installed, just not with me. Here is what the P.O. did to install and a pic of it with one of the mounting brackets. I can get more later if you need.
I have a NOS bumper and still trying to come to grips with cutting it for either this winch or the sidewinder, either way, taking a torch to a new bumper just doesn't seem right! May also attempt a trade for a different bumper all together, diamond-plate with sidewinder behind or this winch top mounted.
Hope the pics help.

oh, also this is on a 72!

Re: Winch in stock bumper.

I recently sold a HICKEY SIDEWINDER winch, which was used on lots of Chevrolet Blazers and Pickups in the 70,s.
