On a factory elec choke truck where is the factory choke wire run from?

Yeah yeah , I know any "ignition on" source. See sentence above

Re: electric choke wire

They typically run through the oil pressure switch from an Ignition source.
Download the 1985 or newer wiring diagrams.

The heat stove choke coil on the intake is darn reliable. Why are you changing it?

My '81 k20 has a 1970 Hi perf built motor in it. I moved to a Free state, no more smog check. My heat choke hasnt worked in years. Edelbrock Performer RPM intake.

Im Rebuilding my 800CFM Quadrajet with proper jetting and mods(from Cliff) to match engine build (cam headers etc). Redoing the distributor too

Re: electric choke wire

Intake change makes sense.

Actually the Edelbrock RPM intake has the provision for the divorce choke coil and Edelbrock sells the coil and the extended rod for the RPM intake. If you use the 800 Q-jet from Cliff it will probably use an Electric Choke anyway. I have used the power feed for the wipers is a great source for an electric choke, just don't ever use the ignition hot wire to the coil (you'd be surprised hw many times I find a "professional" do just that). Hope this helps.

The power feed from the wipers is hot in accessory so that isn't a good choice.
