Anyone with a 1 ton flatbed - factory installed marker lights?
I am trying to figure out if these marker lights are factory (I understand that all DRW trucks should have them as they were federally mandated)
The side marker lamp is obviously either a factory or dealer installed option, as are the taillights and back up lights. I'm curious about the small, red bullet shaped ones on the rear. There are matching amber ones on the front of the bed.

Re: Anyone with a 1 ton flatbed - factory installed marker lights?
While the beehive lights are period I can't say for certain if your truck had them from GM. Is it a factory platform/stake bed or an aftermarket?
My understanding is that: Chassis Cabs with dual wheels (R05) included cab marker lights. Chassis Cabs with dual wheels (R05) without a platform/stake bed did not included the five rear marker lamps only the running/stop/turn/backup lamps. Chassis Cabs with dual wheels (R05) with the platform/stake included the five rear marker lamps and the forward amber marker lamps. Don't have time to dig into this today but hopefully Special-K will wade in here with more defiative answers.

The tail lights,back-up lights, and side marker lights are all factory that came on the flatbed. I don't know about the ICC lights. They were required,so I'd think GM provided them, too

Re: Anyone with a 1 ton flatbed - factory installed marker lights?
It's a factory stake bed - what is the (R05) code? I don't see that on the SPID anyplace. I was told that nothing on this truck has been changed since it was new except regular maintenance stuff and the wheels; I am expecting to have to replace some of these lights since they're banged up and if I do replace anything I'd like it to be correct.

Re: Anyone with a 1 ton flatbed - factory installed marker lights?
I'm confused. I thought all dually trucks without a bed were sold as cab and chassis and the buyer was responsible for purchasing their own flatbed. If that is the case none would be factory GM but the responseability of the flat bed manufacturer. Again, I may (probably) be wrong but both flatbed trucks I have were sold as cab and chassis. One is a c/30 ramp and the other is a c/20 dump bed, both duallies.

Re: Anyone with a 1 ton flatbed - factory installed marker lights?
GM sold chassis-cabs SRW and DRW with factory installed platform/stake bodies on both light and medium series trucks. These had all the mandated lighting installed from the factory and were turn-key work trucks. Chassis-cab trucks had most of the required lighting as far as the rear lamp assemblies. But it seems without a body the five "wide" ID lamps for the rear were not included if I'm reading the notations in my body builder book correctly.
On this truck it is a factory platform truck and would have had a full set of lamps of the beehive style. There was a listing in the classifed board calling them "light sticks" IIRC.

Interesting to note that your truck is an Oshawa built US market truck. Here is a decoder if you need it, don't want to take all the fun out of your discovery.

Re: Anyone with a 1 ton flatbed - factory installed marker lights?
I have the same ones on my truck which came from the factory as a cab chassis. I dont know if the came with the truck or were just from that period.
