Rear bumper?
Not selling yet as I'll need a bumper to replace it. But just curious if there's even a market for this type of bumper. Of course it would load sideways 🙄

Re: Rear bumper?
Flip for you. Always use preview post before posting to see if pics need to be turned. I post from computer only so I can edit with paint if needed. See some wanting these bumpers. Mine went in the trash many years ago.

Re: Rear bumper?
Yes there’s a market. But buyers are few and far between, aside from shipping not being realistic.

Re: Rear bumper?
Those normally sell good at swap meets.
I like that style of bumper.

Re: Rear bumper?
All OEM parts are wanted by someone. I never throw anything out. I'd give a part away if it didn't sell. With all the popularity of K/20s I'd think it's desirable. I'd never run a sport bumper on a 4wd pickup. Their whole purpose is to make it possible to get into the bed

Re: Rear bumper?
I'd put one of these on a newer truck. They are the best rear bumpers ever made for a truck. Not only the toughest, but they are actually a "step" bumper. Only 4" tall leaving 4" between the bumper and lowered tailgate to create a "step". In '73 they went to 8" which brought the bumper up tight to the tailgate, which made them half useless. These will bolt onto 73-87s

Re: Rear bumper?
Most of those were sold to the dealers by regional aftermarket suppliers. You see a lot of that style of bumper minus the added on later receiver hitch on the west coast.
The step bumpers sold in Texas and parts of the southwest that had the dealers name and town stamped in them usually were made by Perry Bumper Company in Waco. Same outfit that made the Smash Hit Grill guards that AD truck guys prize. That is a nice straight bumper that someone will probably want and maybe someone on here and worth saving and advertising locally or taking to a swap meet. If the receiver hitch can be unbolted I'd remove it when time comes to remove the bumper and take photos of the bumper without it and advertise it that way as purists may not like the receiver on it. The you do the OBTW I have this hitch that can go with it when they show up to buy it. I've got one of those receiver hitches welded to the step bumper on my 71 but it had been hacked up a bit when or before my uncle had the truck and has a 1/2 inch plate welded in for a hitch ball and has no value as far as "nice looking bumper" goes.

Re: Rear bumper?
I had one for a couple years. I paid $20.00 for it. It was pretty rusty and gnarly, but not bent.
A little time with a wire brush wheel and some silver paint it looked pretty decent. It wasn't the nicest version, there are many types of them. It was super functional though. A. It was a bumper, so it was legal. Cops have been getting sticky about "vehicle condition" around here lately. B. The times I used my truck like a truck, the flat step part was great for getting in or out of the back. I broke down and bought a sport bumper. Looks great, not quite so practical. The old step bumper I just gave it away. I might have got $25 or $50 for it but I didn't want to go through the trauma of people not showing up to buy it. When stuff is free, it disappears pretty quick and that's what I wanted.
