Cross Over with Hi steer

Just installed cross over w/hi steer and have one issue I thought I'd run by you guys. When I turn all the way to the right the tierod hits the D60 spring mount plate (which is wider due to axle ubolts going over the diff housing) on the passenger side. When I turn all the way to the left it over rotates and binds up on the knuckles which puts some stress on the frame. After thinking about it the only thing I can come up with is the pitman arm is too long which creates the over rotation situation.... Any other ideas?


And of course like any proud dad here is a pic.... elevated tierod makes the axle look great! I also included a pic of the trimmed up rear..

Who made the hi steer arms? Is ther any other choises of holes. It sounds like the arms a a tad on the short side, causing the over steer situation and also causing the center link to contact the spring plate. Nice blazer by the way!!!

I have Crossover/highsteer made by WFOconcepts.com, Trevor is the owner. Great guy to work with...
Anyway I had 3 different pitman arms until I got the right one. It comes from a Full size Jeep Wrangler and Trevor made the hole bigger to fit the bigger TRE.


Here is the GM one I started with, you can see it was way to long for my setup. I have a very low lift so not much room for highsteer.


So it took some back and forth with WFO sending me parts and me sending back what did not work but we finnaly got a working solution on my 72K5.

I also run Hydro Assist


Get some pics of your arms and send them to whoever made them and see what kind of help they can offer.

The entire kit came from Harsh Terrain. So far they have been great to work with, the cost was very reasonable, and the stuff was very well made... even came with a ARP studkit!

The amount of over steer is almost non-consequential but I figure I should dial it in. After sitting in front of the truck for about an hour tonight just thinking about it I have to say the problem has to be the pitman arm length, actually looks to be about the same as BURT4X4 except I have a bigger lift so I have some angle to play with.

my guess would also be pitman arm.

The measurement form the center of the pittman to the center of the tie rod hole should be the same as the steering arm center lines (from the ball joint to the tie rod end hole)
