Re: Anyone running a procharger or super charger?

procharger is my next big toy for the 6L in my truck.

What is your engine setup? I know the 142 and 177's can be fun, by don't support nearly the power that the big displacement blowers like the 6-71 can put out.

Here's my stuff. Weiand 671 topped with BDS 8-nozzle injector plate controlled by a FAST ecu. 10 lbs boost, no dyno numbers, no track times.

Then he just needs to get it to the track! I would have to know what it would do.

Re: Anyone running a procharger or super charger?

Yeah, one of these days I might it down the track. Guess I have really mellowed in my older years. Since I drive her everyday, I built this particular setup for the fun factor rather racing. Kind'a like not having to work on her all the time or replacing broken parts. Occasionally run the slicks for a while and the 4-link does hook fairly well on the back stretch going to work so could only hope I could get get decent 60's at a track. Lots of pressure from the local fast car guys to go because it really bugs them not knowing how fast she may be. For now we both can only guess. Sorry 383, not meaning to clutter up your thread getting off topic.

CB75

Is that BDS cam a hyd, solid or roller with how much lift?

383Chevy

How much compression are you running? If its over 10:1 I wouldn't bother unless you have no objections to running E85 then I would use a Procharger.

Does a supercharger (or turbo for that matter) mean less consistency e.t.-wise?

Anything can cause changes even in a normally aspirated engine.

CB75 I bet your making about 600hp and a boatload more on torque with that little cam.

F/I vehicles can also heatsoak run after run, so there can be consistency issues. That has to be managed with intercooling, some guys run meth to keep iat down, as well as under hood heat management.

Vin63 is that the 8-71 that BME helped to design? Just curious how much is it for just a manifold and the supercharger? I can imagine its pretty $$$ but how much?

The supercharger is a Mert Littlefield unit, and my friend and I fabricated the intake manifold ourselves (nobody makes a high rise blower intake for a Pontiac ). I think the supercharger is around $3K new these days.
