Installing Seat Belts - 1961 C10
Just purchased a 1961 c10 and need to add seat belts. I've been researching and it looks like there are three options..lap belts, three point seat belts and replacing the existing bench with a bucket\ bench seat with retractable belts attached from a 2001-2007 chevy truck. I would be intrested in hearing suggestions and experience with doing anyone one of the three options.
Thank you |

Re: Installing Seat Belts - 1961 C10
Got me a 3 pointer from Juilianos interior products. They have a bunch of colors and styles to choose from. The buckle side needs to be in the rigid plastic sheath if you use bucket seats or for a bench go with ordinary old school plain . You can also choose from different buckles or lap only belts..I had to pull my gas tank to get the anchor plate for the shoulder on the drivers side installed. I drilled the hole first using an old socket for a drillstop, then taped the anchor to a stick and pushed it up in there till I saw the captive nut on the anchor thru the hole and then bullseyed it with the bolt and tightened it up. It took a bit of fenageling but wasn't too hard and I really like the belts.

Re: Installing Seat Belts - 1961 C10
In my 60 panel, I'm putting in a set of lap belts with a bench seat.
while I'm under the truck, I'm welding in 3/8 steel plates (4"x4") to attach the belts to. I know its a bit overkill but I believe in over-building. |
