My new project

I have been in the shadows here for a while. Took the plunge and bought a cheap new project 75 Chevy Blazer. Need some ideas for paint? I am thinking Orange and black. It needs a ton of body work but its not going to be a show truck purely a off roader. I currently have a Lq9, 4l85 and a whipple supercharger that will be replacing the stock 350 and turbo 350 tranny. Shooting for around 5-600 horse. I will weld up the rear end and let the axles break before I upgrade to a 14 bolt and a dana 60. Found a good deal on some leather front and rear seats from an 06 tahoe should be here Monday. I have access to a booth and have a gun as well. I am getting a ton of stuff pc’d for my gym next week so this will have to go quick. The bumpers, wheels and other small parts will be dropped off for pc on Tuesday.
So here it is now

Custom sound deadening material!

The sweet dash cover

So far I have ripped out all the urine soaked carpet. The interior is completely tore down no thanks to home depot for apparently not having any mounting hardware that was the same the day this guy decided to fix up his interior!
This is one of my favorites the steering wheel is held on by a Lug Nut!

Re: My new project

We spent quite a bit of time cleaning up more higih quality sound deadening material! This about a quarter of it.

The attention to detail on the rattle can job was amazing! Check out how straight the lines are.

Had to have been cats this carpet was horrible and that half painted wood is the back window glass replacement.

All in all it has a good frame a fresh tranny and 350 and really not a ton of rust!
Yeah the diamond plate cracks me up. More pics to come on how he used the diamond plate.

Re: My new project

Spent some serious time with the da this weekend sanding! This thing is nearly rust free minus the passenger floor pan cat piss rust: The seats showed up built mounts for them. Interior is gutted blasted and ready to be shot with bed liner. I think this is my paint with more black accents.
Very Viper Orange

Re: My new project

My DA is a new offering from Snap on pretty spendy but you get what you pay for.

Almost ready to get the interior back together and Rhino line the interior but......I hate the the way the back seat sits. The floor sucks for people riding in the back you either have a seat that sits high no headroom and have leg room or a seat that sits on the floor and has no leg room. Looking for some idea's on moding the tub to make this seat more realistic for passengers?

Re: My new project

That beast is dying to be rhino-lined in and out. Use the liner that you can tint to the orange color you like...it is only going to be offroad, right? Sure will cut down on the bodywork!
