coming out of the closet

Ok, I admit it...... I own a Ford.. and yes..... I.... I (this is kind of hard to say)...... I kind of like it. Same year as my chevy too, 69. Its got a 390 and a three on the tree. So now that I have come to terms with my problem, do any of you want to admit that you suffer from this same problem. I'll have to work on posting a pic later.

Naw - can't do it - LOL. I own 6 GM trucks, 1 car (Chevelle Convertible) and a couple of parts (Chevy) trucks. No Fords ever have or ever will be in my garage.

I got really crazy in 79 and bought a brand new F150 4x4. The two happiest days of ownership were...1 the day I brought it home....2 the day I got rid of that piece of s***. I have retained my sanity ever since. NO MORE F***s.

Out of the closet and blown your cover! You should seek help, losing the f**d would be a good first step to recovery.

C'mon guys, at least it's an old American Truck and not an Import. I drove a friends 75 Bronco for a month while my truck was in the body/paint shop, it couldn't compare to my girl but I'd have to say it was pretty cool, for a F**D. To tell the truth, I wouldn't mind having one if they weren't so fu**king trendy out here, with a Chevy engine of course.

I drive a Ford Festiva to school, I can't complain because it gets fantastic (50) mpg. True, its a Kia rebadge, but it still says "Ford" on it. And my dad's truck is pretty nice, despite the TTB IFS front axle and automatic locking hubs. The 4.9L I6 in it will run forever, and gets decent gas mileage. But, Ford Aerostars suck...so do Taurus/Sables...so do Escorts...so do most of the newer 'Stangs. Yeah. I must admit that most Fords do suck.

Fords? I've owned a few of them....
a Bronco II, the most fun I've ever had for 250 bucks,
a ford aerostar... the biggest pile of monkey I have ever seen...
a taurus... not bad for a v-6 (and 500 bucks)
and then there was the tempo.... we've had it for two months, got it for free, put 200 bucks into it to sell it... and it hasnt sold... we're only asking 300.....

I'd own another Bronco II if I could do all the stuff that I did to my first, but I doubt I'd own another ford.

Currently have two Toyota MR2's and a 67 Chev c-10, with a 406 cid heart. love them all.

Okay, time for me to come out of the closet, I had two Toyota Trucks many years ago, very reliable. I had to, I was driving 80 miles a day and had no money!

I agree...but I'd like to add on a bit...I'd definitely take an older 'Stang with a 428 SCJ and a 4 speed, or a Boss 302, Boss 351, or Boss 429. And I like the styling of the I think 70-73 Mach 1 Fastback, too...but I'd like mine with a 429 SCJ and a 4 speed.

me, i am a lover of vehicles in general, but i really like the ones that everyone else hates, like the edsel, or the gremlin, or pacers, or ramblers, you name it i like it, i am only 18 and have had 4 vehicles if you include the Harley. yes the first was a chevy, 65 with factory a/c and factory 4x4 3/4 short step, very rare, grandfather bought new in november of 64(truck is still in family). My second was a FORD and i loved every bit of it though i was not keen to the body style this car would knock the socks off almost any if not all chevys that i put it against, in matter of fact it out ran a 70 camaro supercharged 454, the only reason i have sparked an interest in 67-72 chevy trucks is because i needed a truck and it was priced right, i do admit that it has grown on me and i taunt my parents by telling them i am going to teach thier grandkids to drive in it (come the time) but selling my FORD was the biggist mistake i ever made

oh and for you guys that want to know
64 2 door falcon sprint
428 shelby engine, with gt40 alum heads, high rise intake, dual holley 800cfm carbs
richmond five speed transmission
ford nine inch rearend 4.11 gears
fuel cell in trunk
and huge bubble hood to cover it up when i wasnt racing it

Your on your way to the 12 step recovery. The first step is admitting the problem

Don't worry about what others believe is a quality daily driver. If your happy with YOUR decision, that is all that matters. I've had a Dodge Ram 4X4 since new in 1998, and I hate to say it but for the offering and price, I think I'll be getting a 2003 Ram. I wish I could wait until the 2004 model year, and get the 04 #ord F-150, as I really like the body style, but I've totally abused the 98 Ram, and with only 62000 miles, it's ready for the junk yard. I had it submerged in the Gulf of Mexico drunk on the beach and the tide came in, and the electronics are messing up. It has been buried in mud (1/2 way up the doors), and when it got pulled out, the body got pulled and the front suspension stayed way too long. Not to mention I've driven it like a sports car since new, and has red lined the engine several times a week since new (I think that is where the engine "tick" comes from). I've had it so buried in mud, that I've had to drain the fluids at least 50 times (including power steering). I've had 5000+ LBS of shingles in the bed at least 20 times. Maybe the above explains why I've put 2 transmissions in it, 1 rear end, replaced the brakes every 10-15,000 miles, replaced the radious arms 2 times, had the transfercase rebuilt once, and go through a set of tires every 15,000 miles (they can't get alignment to specs).
