62 tranny crossmember ????

Hay guys Im in need of some info I have a 62 chevy swb with the granny four speed on the floor and im trying to gather all the parts to do a auto tranny swap but I cant find any aftermarket crossmembers thay all start at 63 and up no 62 whats the diferance in the years can thay be made to fit with some tweeking what are you guys using in the later year trucks..

Any info you guys can send my way would help alot Thanks

The big difference is the '60-'62 frames have the big 'X' in the middle whereas the '63 and up don't. So to use a '63 and up trans crossmember in a '60-'62 frame, it will need to be cut down considerably.

Here's a link showing what the factory 60-62 automatic trans crossmember looks like. Knowing where it goes might help in fabricating a replacement. They also show up on ebay every now and then.

swapped a 700r4 into my 60. It also had the old 4 speed before. Pictures of the
