MAN!!! I wish i had taken a pic of my 72 hauling a load of black dirt 2 years ago. The load was so big, it snapped both my rear coils and my step bumper was dragging on the ground. My ball hitch got caught on the damn rail crossing when i was going over it

Yep, unfortunately dont have photo's, but have carried grit, turf (very heavy), decking lumbar , etc in the back of mine. If your not going to use it, then why have it?

oh ya she is squating, but just a bit.. its not at bad of a ride as you might think.. but if you want a smooth ride you need about 1000 pounds in the back

YES I DO!!! it's my everyday only vehicle in the past year i've done 30thousand miles i've hauled loads of model A&T bodies around the east coast and from Tn. and N.J. just a couple of weeks ago my friends electra-glide broke down during bikeweek and we loaded it up and drove him to N.C. !!! she may not be pretty but she's ready willing and able to go anywhere,anytime hauling ass or hauling a load IT'S A TRUCK!!!!

Mine regularly hauls loads of rubbish to the dump, garden rubbish, rubble etc (we are in the process of renovating our house) The other day it had our old 1965 horrible green three piece bathroom suite in the back, cast iron bath (man those things are heavy, nearly ended up toboganning down the stairs behind it!) washbasin and toilet on their way to the dump. Wish I'd taken a picture of it, the only truck with en-suite facilities!

My justification to my wife for owning a truck with a thirsty V8 when gas is $5 a gallon here is that it works for a living as well as going to show etc.

I use mine as a truck! My 69 has been in the basement for a couple of years but it has hauled many, many loads of mulch, lumber and anything else I need to haul. Even pulled my brothers 96 F150 to the repair shop once. Got a pic of that at the Stoplight in front of Kmart!! Has him showing me I'm number 1 !!!LOL!!! Great pic you can see the tow strap!

The 68 I got because I needed a truck while I was working on the 69, It has hauled a couple campers (thanks FINE69), ATVs, pinewood derby track, firewood and like the 69 anything I need to haul. They are TRUCKS after all!

Here's a loader scoop of sand. Squats the truck down a bit, the shackle definitely gets pushed back more.

Every time I see a lowered truck I think why would somebody take a perfectly good, usable truck and turn it into a ricer.

I've built mine to haul my bass boat around but in the off season it gets used all the time...
if the salt isn't too bad.

I don't buy into that line of reasoning. Being lowered doesn't necessarily mean that you can't haul anything. I've used my truck many times as a 'work' truck - I used to do side work working for a roofing contractor. Now I didn't do anything crazy, like throw scrapes off the roof into the back of the truck, but I did haul a fair amount of material around.

I've only had my truck for a few months of winter, so I haven't had to really carry much. The only big thing I've carried is the huge cardboard box with a body kit in it for my friend's 92 Honda Prelude Si. But, my truck is a 3/4 ton with HD front and rear suspension and overloads for a reason, lol. And it sure ain't for the smooth ride

Factory half leaf over load springs work well.

I must be doing something wrong. The photo does not show up - just the box with the red x - but if I right click on the box and tell it I want to see the picture, up it comes. Hope it works for others.

Maybe some 3" drop springs; now if only I could find a place that sells heavy duty 3/4 ton 3" drop springs...

No pics, but one time I hauled 4300 lb of fill sand in my 74 1/2 ton. The loader just wouldn't stop dumping, and after I got of the scales I shoveled as much as I could to the front of the bed. Crawled home, about a mile & a half. Last year I was hauling topsoil, and it was $40 a pickup load. Had my 52 3/4 ton with the bed full, around 2 tons, going down the interstate at 40-45 mph. That was a ride.

Mine's lowered...I've personally never done any obscene amounts of hauling, but with ECE's 4" drop leaves, I've been able to still haul plenty of things just fine...loads of furniture, my THM400, tools...

Even as full as I've ever gotten it, it still drives fine and feels the same. I've never taken any pics of it loaded, but I don't think I've ever had any serious squat...

Last time it ever did have any serious squat, the exhaust pipe hit the brake line and the rear brakes went out with a full load and some of manure in the bed! And that was with the original leaves...

A few years ago I carried 2 server racks densely mounted with equipment (like 21 2U servers each) and 2 CLARiiON storage arrays with 120 drives each. I aired the rear bags to 110# of pressure and the rear was still sagging just a tad from where it would normally ride with 50# in them. I told my boss that he would be replacing the bags if they broke (and that he'd be helping me pick up the $100k+ worth of equipment that would probably spill out if the bags did pop.
