And to think, I was gonna drop it in the truck just after buying it. I am glad I took my time and did it right. It will make a big difference when the truck is done and I pop the hood to show off a nice clean, freshly painted engine.

Thanks for the great comments guys

I'm 99.99% sure those exhaust manifolds will hit the frame stands. They are later model 73-up ones, and they interfere on 67-72 trucks.

Yeah I think they will need to be changed right quickly. I need some center dump ram horns.

Jim
I used the same type of cam that you removed from your engine. Do you have the specs on it? I must have thrown out my info sheet.

I'll look for them. I think it was like .390/.410 lift. It was used in most sbc in the mid to late 60's.

Yeah Larry, I'm going with HEI, but no headers. I actually had a set given to me by a buddy, but someone stole them outta the cab of my truck. So I am gonna use manifolds instead.

I've still got that set of ram horns if you need them. I've been told that the ram horns are more efficient, but don't know if anyone has ever proven it on a dyno.
