More recent powdercoating pics...

I've got a much bigger oven coming the end of this month. It will be 6 feet long, 4 feet high, and 2 feet wide. I will be able to do core supports, bumpers, rear trailing arms and more.

I figured I'd pimp my work a little to try and help pay for this new oven.

I keep the following colors right now:
  • full gloss black
  • 60 percent gloss black
  • 40 percent gloss black
  • gloss white
  • ultimate chrome
  • argent
  • silver vein
  • copper vein
  • two different oranges
  • two different reds
  • Monster green
  • Candy blue

I can get literally thousands of colors within 4 days

Here are a couple I've done recently...

60 percent gloss black,

Ultimate chrome,

orange,

Monster green,

I can also do a bang up job on rally wheels too...

Argent,

Before,

After, gloss white,

I've been getting good reviews on the review board from members that I've coated for. I am absolutely an obsessive detail freak, and the finish product will reflect that. Your parts will be treated like priceless treasures while I have them. I ship Postal Service, so rates are very reasonable and shipping time is 2-3 days. I can usually offer 1-2 day turnaround time from when I recieve the part to when I deliver it to the post office.

Of course, for big items like wheels and core supports, you'd need to be close. Shipping on heavy stuff would be phrohibitive. Also, I'd hate to trust the nice finished part to the shipping companies.

Re: More recent powdercoating pics...

I've got some of his stuff. It's excellent and it's affordable and it's quick. Trash the rattlecans all together. An to heck with cranking the compressor and spray gun for only a few small parts.

I will try to post some pics of his work this weekend.

I assume some of you know Kevin and some of you don't. I just met him last weekend, and he's a pleasure to business with.

Great looking work! Wish I lived close to you, I would have you do some of my bigger/heavy parts. I'm looking to maybe get my glovebox door, radio delete plate and ashtray done in black powdercoat; what would that run on average? My zipcode is 93637 if that is needed as well.

Kelvin,

Do you sometimes use a toaster oven? Would a toaster oven work for small parts? Just wanting some advise from a pro. Also when do you have to used a primer coat? TJ

Hello,

Those are good questions. There are several very informative websites out there that discuss in great detail these exact matters. Different people have different ways of doing their projects, with varying degrees of success.

Re: More recent powdercoating pics...

Here are some pics of a project I did today. It's a "piggy" bank I built for my nephew's 7th birthday.

I made it out of a piece of 4 inch round tubing, some flat plate and an expanding plug for the nose. Bolts for the eyes. Welding rod for the mouth. You remove the plug to access the money inside.

The powder is ultimate chrome topped by hot candy blue. The pics don't really do the color it's justice.

Here is a part I did today for truckintexas. It's a license plate box for a rear sport bumper.

Color is ultimate chrome with clear. In person it looks outstanding.

Re: More recent powdercoating pics...

If your wheels are this bad...

plan on 50 per wheel. If they are clean rallys without too much rust or paint buildup, 40 each.

Shipping would be killer for those heavy things though.

Re: More recent powdercoating pics...

Same price for the powder, same amount of labor. It's just a person's preference as to which to use. I've been using a ton of 60 percent gloss since it's closest to original black finish used on underhood and chassis parts.

Re: More recent powdercoating pics...

Which "Springtown TX" you in? Mapquest pulls up 2. One just west of Ft. Worth and one considerably further SSW from Ft. Worth.
As my project spins up I'll be needing some powder coating done, Was also considering doing the frame, but I wouldn't be able to do my own touchups to it years down the road, if needed (like I did some frame mods).
