My 1972 C10 "Restoration"
This truck is a 1972 C10 (Obviously) but it was bought in 1973 by my Great-grandfather, who passed it to my Grandfather, who passed it to my father, who has passed it to me. It is all original minus the center console, exhaust, gas tank, reaido, and grill. All of that was because the original became damaged. The exhaust is Magnaflow from the headers to the pipes, the grill is aftermarket gilded aluminum, center console is from a newer Chevrolet and is there for the cup holders only, and the tank was leaking so it was replaced by 2 in the bed under the toolbox.
My plans for this truck is to make it look like it just rolled off the showroom floor in 1972. To do this I need to: 1. Repaint it with the stock paint (if anyone knows how to get their hands on a lot of medium olive green poly 504 that would be appreciated) 2. Redo the trim so that it looks new 3. Reupholster the seat (drivers side has some tears in it) 4. Likely replace the rear bumper (was rear-ended in the 80's at least once) 5. Rebuild the radio, distributer, and carburetor. Engine, Transmission, and Rear-end were rebuilt 35k miles ago so that shouldn't be a problem for a while Go !! -Jack |
