Be WARNED North Texas...

This baby is just about ready to drop into my 72 c-10. Oh yeah!!!

355 with Trick Flow 23° aluminum 62cc heads. Comp Cams Extreme Energy 274 hydraulic flat tappet cam. Crane 1.5 Energizer Aluminum full roller rockers. And an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold... Oh my! That should be good for at least what... 200 horse?

Yes yes... I know the carb is dirty.

And yes yes... I know that the water neck looks like crap. Can't decide if I want to change it out to a chrome / brushed aluminum one... or if I want to pull it off and paint it orange to match the rest of the motor... Either way would look good to me.

Re: Be WARNED North Texas...

I just went ahead and got a chrome one... it was only 15 fricken dollars...

Stupid power steering pump. Previous Owner broke the tensioning bolt off in the pump, and it's wedged in there so bad that after I drilled down into it a bit, and put my extractor thingy in it... it actually broke my extractor thingy. And now I can't drill that back out. Grrrr!!!

God I hate previous owners. People must love getting cars after me because I fix so much crap from the people before me.

Re: Be WARNED North Texas...

Man... doesn't it suck when you're putting a motor back into a truck and you're like "What plugged into this...?"
I had the distributor cap in hand thinking, "Where is the plug that plugs into this. I see the hot wire, and the tach..." Then it hit me. I don't see the other wires because I haven't stabbed the distributor yet.

I have pretty much the exact same setup on my sbc ,and I can't seem to keep my right foot out of it. You'll like it , I wouldn't trade my Trick Flow heads for any other ones.

Starter heat shield from summit. Like 9 dollars or so.

No idea... Went from 76cc chambers to 62cc chambers, and was bored .030 over. Pistons are the dished type with eyebrows in them... so I know I bumped it some, but with the heads being aluminum instead of 500 tons of iron, I should still be running pump gas...

What do you think my compression is? I don't even know what it was stock... Didn't really worry about it to tell you the truth. Know I bumped it up... but don't think by much.

I guess the compression is 9.8 to 1. that's if the piston has a 12cc dish and not a 20cc and the deck is at 0.
