Talking You can't beat FREE!!!!

I had a friend form years ago text me about 2 weeks ago as I was getting things ready for the car show in Myrtle beach last weekend. He had a 66 Chevy truck that his dad bought new in Andreson SC. He told me if I knew anybody interested in it that he would give them the truck. I told him to send me some pictures of it and I would ask around.

He sent me pictures that night and it turned out it was a 68 step. Needless to say I took the truck with original title and the key for it. It's a LWB all original down to the rust on it. It needs a bunch of work but I'm going to get it running and let my daughter have it. It had some work done to it about 4 years ago when it was parked. New tank installed and brakes all around it. The motor was running then, we will see. We took it out of gear and it rolled free which was nice the winch pulled it right up onto the ramp without any problems.

The ramp truck made it's first full size haul today as well and did just fine.
Last picture is Donnie & my daughter! My daughter is happy as could be about it. She is looking forward to getting it on the road.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I took and put a old battery in it and got head lights and tail lights but nothing else. Will pull the seat out and gas tank. Blow out the fuel lines and maybe take the carb off and have it built. Then try it again after checking the wiring out and see if I get anything.

Congratulations on your score! That almost warrants sending them a bottle of their favorite hooch!

I'm planning on taking him out for a nice meal in a few weeks. He will be down at Ocean lakes campground in Myrtle beach working all summer. I'm going to go by and get him and buy him a nice seafood dinner one night.

Yes for now we will keep them. I want to get it cleaned up and mechanically sound before I do any kind of mods to it.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to getting it running. My daughter is so proud of it she keeps asking when are we going to start on it. I haven't even unloaded it yet.
Another friend has given me a 350 complete motor for it if I want it. I have to to go to Rockhill SC to get it though. I guess I'll be making a run to Rockhill in the near future!
My dad said he would pay for new tires when I get them so as of now I'm looking pretty good. I also have the old 283 out of the Impala if I want to use it.

Sorry about the video my daughter was taking it.
