Wow! I can tell that a lot of thought went into that conversion and it looks very functional. I like it. Do you have to go very far to camp or do you just travel the countryside? How many people camp with you?

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Re: Camping Burb Ready!!!

Very nice Suburban and great camping setup! Overlanding, off-the-grid, whatever you want to call it, your setup meets the challenge and then some. Hoping to see more pics of your adventures.

Re: Camping Burb Ready!!!

awesome job on that suburban, that's very similar to my plans for one of mine

but your location caught my eye, spent a wonderful deployment to Antalya back in 98.. the celebi managers at the airport hosted our combat cargo operations in support of mediterranean ops.. they took us to their homes, local restaurants, etc. even helped me find a couple of nice shotguns that I still have.. fond memories of that deployment!

Re: Camping Burb Ready!!!

Very cool rig. A camping buildout is in the future for my suburban once I get the mechanicals sorted out. I will certainly be referring back to your posts when I get to that point! Nice work!

I would say back then the countryside was far nicer and not overloaded with hotels around each bay... I do live in Istanbul but Antalya has a very nice surroundings and beaches. Also impressed that you keep every details and contacts after nearly 25 years!

Thank you for nice comments..

Actually these pictures were taken near the Mediterranean Sea, Antalya, where the conversation has been made. (Which is about 8 hours drive to Istanbul). This was to test the setup.. (and it has nicer weather this part of the year) But from where I am 30-40 mins of drive I can be in the woodlands or in a campsite.. This was only with my family, but 4 people can sleep in the tent, two can sleep in the car (a bit of a height issue but they can sleep), and if you use side room, probably even 4-6 more people can sleep in there in sleeping bags..
