The smile that wouldn't go away

I have only owned my truck since January. I was rather let down when i received it because it really wasn't how the PO described it as far as condition. It didn't even run when it arrived. Our first night together was spent sitting in 30 degree weather for 5 hours waiting on a tow truck to get it home after it had been dropped off by the transport that brought it from Idaho.

I have been working on it for an average of five hours a night every night of the week since I got it (literally). Removing excess wiring, cleaning up crap that should have been removed years ago, and just getting it where I could enjoy driving it.

It has been running reliably for about a week. It starts, idles, and putts around fine. I had even driven it to work a couple of times. But! Today was THE day. I made a few adjustment that Geezer recommended and it is a new machine.

I was sitting at a light tonight on my way home from work. This clown in a newer F150 was staring at me from the left lane and edging up waiting for the light to change. As soon as the light turned green I floored it. The engine was revving like it should, and smoke was pouring off the tires. I wasted that fool in that Ford. He rode my ass for about a mile. I couldn't stop smiling the whole way home.

So, thanks to all the folks that post all the great information here for everyone else to use, and thanks to all of you who answer the questions we all ask. Today was a great day.
