Talking Got the tires and wheels on

Mickey Thompson MTZs 33/12.50/17x9 Ultra 208s (5" bs)
Sky Jacker soft ride 2.5" lift with Sky Jacker shocks (springs front rear blocks)

Think they made the truck.

Re: Got the tires and wheels on

Mind telling me about the lift? You like the ride? What's it like (smooth/stiff)? I was going to do a 2.5" lift to the Suburban and get 33's - exactly like what you have. Was even thinking of going up to 17" wheels, so thanks for the pics!!!

Re: Got the tires and wheels on

Yeah I like the lift and the ride is better then before thats for sure, I think if I had gotten the rear springs instead of just the blocks it would be even better but I went cheap on that part..lol
I read either SkyJacker soft ride or Tuff Country easy ride is the way to go on the 2.5" lifts on these trucks.
I no the ride before was choppy but Iam sure the stock springs were just done being 44yrs old and all.

Main reason I went to 17s is because they will fit my 2006 Z71 as well so I could swap them around if need be.

Re: Got the tires and wheels on

Thanks guys, Iam really happy with the choice I made on these.

Yeah that blue is what got me to drive 300 miles to go look at the truck besides it being the only 4x4 I could find for sale at the time..lol

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Looks real good, I think you made a great choice with 2.5" springs and 33" tires. (I'm kinda a fan of those specs) Do you know who makes the shocks for Skyjacker?

Re: Got the tires and wheels on

Thanks, yeah I wanted it up higher but nothing to high thought about a 4" lift but just did not want to go that tall. Afraid if you get to big it makes it hard to use as a truck anymore.
I could not guess who really makes the shocks did not even think about it really.

Both of your trucks look sharp! The new shoes on the blue truck are a HUGE step up from what you had on it before! Looks great!

Re: Got the tires and wheels on

Looks real nice. I'm not usually a fan of the big rims on 4x4, but yours look right on there. Course when you think about it 17's aren't a heck of a lot bigger than the 16.5's I was running on my K20 =)
